Everyone is different! That’s one of the beautiful things about life. Your hobbies, preferences, favorite foods—they’re as unique to you as your smile. That’s why we offer several different types of braces.
The right treatment option for you may not be someone else’s favorite option; we get it! No one lives the same lifestyle, so we don’t expect one treatment option to suit everyone.
You and your family can choose from:
- Invisalign® clear aligners
- LightForce™ 3-D printed braces
- GC Experience ® brackets (self-ligating braces)
- Or traditional braces (metal or clear braces)
To get an idea of which treatment would be best for you, let’s explore each type!
1. Traditional Braces
Traditional braces have been around for decades, but are still popular among kids, teens, and adults. Made of high-quality stainless steel, they use a metal bracket and wires system that gradually moves your teeth into healthy alignment. Our orthodontists will make adjustments to your braces every 6 to 8 weeks to fine-tune any movement and ensure everything is progressing smoothly!
One of the major benefits of choosing traditional braces is that they’re highly effective at treating a wide range of common orthodontic issues, from a few crooked teeth to more complex conditions like overbite.
The short and sweet is that they’re extremely visible but also efficient! So if you don’t mind rocking a more traditional look, traditional metal braces can be a great choice.
2. Clear Braces
Clear braces function similar to regular braces, but they have a more aesthetic appeal. Made from ceramic material, clear braces blend in with your natural teeth, making them less noticeable.
These types of braces are good for teens and adults who want a more discreet and fixed treatment option.
3. GC Experience™ (Self-Ligating Braces) </h2>
Self-ligating braces look like regular braces at first glance, but look a little closer as they have a special type of bracket.
GC Experience™ brackets use a passive clip mechanism that latches your braces archwires into place. You may hear it also referred to as a ‘tieless system’ as traditional braces use elastic ties, but self-ligating braces don’t! (Although you can still pick out elastics colors at your appointment if you like a little pop of color during your treatment!)
These braces are a great choice because they reduce friction (the number one cause of braces discomfort) and require fewer adjustments, making your time in braces quicker and more comfortable!
4. LightForce™ 3-D Printed Braces </h2>
LightForce™ braces are the world’s first 3D printed braces and they’re quickly becoming a popular option among kids, teens, and adults!
Why? Because they’re aesthetic and can reduce your treatment time by up to 40%! While traditional braces and self-ligating braces have standard brackets and wires, LightForce braces are custom-designed using specialized software and even provide custom bonding trays. So say goodbye to a long braces placement appointment!
If you’re looking for a high-tech braces option that is customized to your and your smile. LightForce 3-D printed braces may be your perfect treatment.
5. Invisalign
Last but not least, we offer Invisalign clear aligners! Invisalign uses a series of custom-made clear aligners that are practically invisible, giving you a truly invisible treatment option. These aligners will gradually shift your teeth into healthy alignment by targeting a few teeth at a time with each tray.
Many teens and adults love Invisalign because it’s a removable treatment— so you can eat your favorite foods and easily brush and floss your teeth without hassle or restrictions.
And as Platinum Invisalign providers, our orthodontists can treat moderate to severe orthodontic conditions with Invisalign! We’ve even treated patients before who were told they weren’t Invisalign candidates.
Invisalign vs braces
When comparing Invisalign vs. braces, it’s important to consider your unique smile needs and lifestyle. Clear braces will give you the aesthetic benefits of Invisalign but with the effectiveness of fixed braces. On the other hand, Invisalign is a great option for those who prefer a removable and nearly invisible treatment.
